Apple’s latest operating system update iOS9 will be loaded with many cool new features. The smartphone maker is working on a different strategy this time to unveil the features of iOS9. The another feature added in the list is update in iTunes Match.
iTunes Match service was first launched in the year 2011. It gave the subscribers a convenient way to store 25,000 songs in iCloud. The latest update has lifted up the upper limit to 1,00,000 songs form 25,000 songs. This is the only update released in this music service since its launch year.

Apple executive Eddy Cue revealed the latest update in response to the questions asked about company’s latest addition in the music segment – Apple Music. Apple has planned to launch this 1,00,000 song limit update along with the iOS9 launch this year. Cue repeated that Apple Music subscriptions will essentially include iTunes Match.
On Apple’s official website, it explained about the functioning of Apple Music. According to them, Apple Music will match and upload any song that user owns so that he can have access to them anywhere which is similar to iTunes Match. Also, if there’s any song or album which is not available in the Apple Music catalog, user can just buy it from any source, upload it, and then listen to it in the same app, irrespective of the device used.
This latest move to combine Apple Music and iTunes Match along with the new 1,00,000 song limit is solely focused to come at par with Google Play Music. Google Play Music allows the user to upload 50,000 songs and stream from a large catalog of music as part of its subscription service.
However, the Google’s music upload service is free and the iTunes Match on its own continues to cost $24.99 per year.
